Admins can switch this feature on or off for users in their organization.”
In summary, in this setup – we can add and sync office 365 active users with the Microsoft Teams licenses.

- Add Domain
Add Domain – Your domain represents your organization online
Once we click on the “Go to guide setup” green button, we will get the “Add Domain – Your domain represents your organization online” configuration page.

In this configuration page, either we could select “Add a domain you already own” or use the default domain for now.
As I don’t have a custom purchased domain – I am selecting the second option “Use default domain globalsharepoint2020.onmicrosoft.com for now as this is my trial tenant domain.
By the way, what is a domain?
As per Microsoft – “Your domain gives your organization a presence on the web. When people in your organization send an email, their addresses will represent your business (like example@yourdomainname.com). You can also set up a website that uses your domain (like http://www.yourdomainname.com) so it’s easy for everyone to find you online and learn more about what you do
If you don’t add a domain now, people in your organization will use the onmicrosoft.com domain for their email addresses until you do. It’s important to add your domain before you add users, so you don’t have to set them up twice.”
Click on the “Use this domain link”

Add users and assign licenses in Microsoft 365 admin center

As an admin, you can choose whether your users can invite people from outside the organization to collaborate in Teams. We’ll send you an email with more details.
Store and share files
Share, edit, and co-author Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files directly within Teams.
There are two options with respect to email sharing:
- Email users in my organization about Teams. The email includes guidance and a link to download Teams. It will be sent to everyone licensed to use Teams and Exchange.
- Don’t send an email about Teams.
Note:
- We could select any of the radio options. However, it is recommended to select the send email option for awareness about Microsoft Teams.
