What are Live event policies in Teams?
Microsoft Teams live events policies are used to turn on or off features, such as who can join a live event, if the transcription is provided for attendees, or if recording live events are available for people who schedule and hold live events. You can use the Global (Org-wide default) policy and customize it or create additional policies with different settings and assign them to people that hold live events in your organization.
How to manage Live event policies in Microsoft Teams?
Log in to the Microsoft Teams admin center: admin.teams.microsoft.com/policies/broadcasts
Click on the “Live events policies” from the “Meetings” section

There are basically three sections in the Live events policies:
- Live events policies summary – it gives a summary of live events policies.
- User statistics – it displays the user statics report.
- Manage User Policies – using this option we can Add, Edit, Duplicate, and Search user policies in the team.
How to add a live event policy in Teams?
From the Microsoft Teams admin center, go to Meetings -> Live Events Policies -> Click on the “Add” button.

Once we click on the +Add button, we can see the “Live events policies \ Add” screenshot.

Live events policies \add parameters:
- Add a name for your new live event policy – live events name.
- Add a friendly description so you know it was created – event description.
- Allow scheduling – toggle off/on
- Allow transcription for attendees – toggle off/on
- Who can join scheduled live events – options are given below
- Who can record an event – options are given below

Microsoft Teams live events settings lets you control org-wide settings for all live events that are scheduled. You can choose to include a support URL when live events are held and set up a third-party video distribution provider for all live events organized and scheduled by people in your organization.
How to manage live events settings in Microsoft Teams?
Login to team admin center – admin.teams.microsoft.com/broadcasts/settings

There are basically two configurable sections in the live events settings in Teams:
- Support URL – Customize the support URL if a user needs to contact support during a live event, for example, Contact Microsoft Support
- Third-party video distribution providers – Use a third-party distribution provider, this is a toggle off/on, the default setting is off.
